Alpha Progress


Hello there!

As this week nearly concludes, we are roughly a week away from finishing the Alpha build of our Metroidvania game PRESS REKORD. Despite the team feeling a bit tired from the strain of lockdown in Ireland (COVID-19) and getting back into the swing of working after our break, we are making good progress...

This week we have:

  • Completed the new UI Artwork
  • Begun implementing the UI Artwork and getting it working with the UI system
  • Tweaked the general Combat and Rat Enemy systems and fixed the Dash Ability bug
  • Found an appropriate Environment Art Style to commit to for overall consistency 
  • Begun drawing the Tilemaps and the Character Dialogue Sprites
  • Finished the temporary Map Art (for the Alpha - will be tweaked in the future)
  • The Audio elements have started undergoing editing

Below is a mock-up image of the new UI Pause Menu artwork against a screenshot from the Vertical Slice Build combat area and an image of Kat (for the purposes of correlating Kat's colour details and the UI's colours, etc.)
